# Choosing Your Business Type

Tabby asks for your entity type during onboarding so it can apply the correct tax rules and reports.

**Supported entity types**
- **Sole Proprietor / 1099** — reported on Schedule C, Form 1040
- **Single-Member LLC** — taxed as sole prop by default, or elects S-Corp/C-Corp treatment
- **Partnership / Multi-Member LLC** — reported on Form 1065
- **S-Corp** — reported on Form 1120-S
- **C-Corp** — reported on Form 1120

Not sure which applies to you? You can change your entity type any time from **Settings → Business Profile**.
