# Connecting Your First Bank Account

Your books can't update automatically until a bank is connected.

**Steps**
1. From any screen, click **Connect Bank** (or go to **Bank Connections** in the sidebar).
2. Search for your bank or credit card provider.
3. Log in securely through Plaid — Tabby never sees or stores your banking password.
4. Select which accounts to sync (checking, savings, credit cards).
5. Click **Connect**. Your transactions begin importing within a few minutes.
