# Manage, fix or remove a bank connection

After a bank is connected, you can change which accounts sync, repair a connection that has stopped, or remove it. Each is done from the connection's card on the Bank connections page.

## Manage a connection

Click **Manage** on a connection card. A panel opens on the right.

1. **Syncing.** Accounts that are importing, with the date each one imports from.
2. **Not syncing.** Other accounts at the same login that you haven't added.
3. **Connection.** Update the login or remove the connection.

### Add an account you skipped

If you left an account out when you connected, you don't have to connect the bank again.

1. Click **Review** on the "more account" line of the connection card, or open **Manage** and click **Add** next to the account.
2. Set **Used for** to **Business only** or **Business & personal**. Mixed accounts get a Personal option when you categorize.
3. Choose a date under **Import transactions from**.
4. If you've been uploading statements for this same account, choose it under **Already uploading statements for this account?** Combining keeps your uploaded history and stops duplicates.
5. Click **Start syncing**.

### Stop syncing an account

In the Manage panel, click **Stop syncing** next to the account and confirm.

New transactions from that account stop importing. The ones already in your books stay. You can add the account back at any time from the same panel.

Use this if you linked a personal account by mistake, or if an account is no longer used by the business.

## Fix a connection that needs attention

Banks expire logins from time to time, often after a password change or a security check. When that happens the connection shows **Needs attention** and an alert tells you the date it stopped.

To fix it:

1. Click **Reconnect**.
2. Click **Continue to Plaid** and log in to your bank again.

The status returns to **Connected**, and Tabby imports the transactions it missed since the login expired.

| **Tip:** Don't upload statements to cover the gap. Reconnecting fills it in, and uploading the same dates can create duplicates.

### Update the login after a password change

If you've changed your bank password and want to get ahead of the problem, open **Manage** and click **Update login** under Connection. It runs the same Plaid login.

## Remove a connection

Open **Manage**, scroll to **Connection**, and click **Remove** followed by the bank's name.

All accounts from that login stop syncing. Transactions already imported stay in your books.

Removing a statements account is different. See **Manage a statements account** (in the article "Upload bank statements").

## Common questions

### Why do I have to reconnect?

Banks expire logins for security, usually after a password change or a period of time. Reconnecting takes a minute and nothing is lost. Tabby picks up from the date the login expired.

### I linked a personal account by mistake

Open **Manage** and click **Stop syncing** next to it. If some of its transactions already imported, mark them as personal in **Bank feeds**.
