Find your way around Bank feeds
Bank feeds is the list of every transaction from your connected bank and card accounts. Tabby categorizes each one as it arrives. Your part is smaller: check its work, fix what it got wrong, and deal with the few it couldn't place.
This article shows you around the page and how to find any transaction.
A quick tour of the page
Open Bank feeds from the left sidebar.

- Page actions. Upload a statement, export what you see to CSV, or connect another account.
- Connected accounts. One card for each account that feeds this page.
- Tabby AI status. How much of your feed is categorized and how many transactions still need you.
- Status tabs. All, Categorized, Excluded and Matched.
- Search and Filters. Narrow the list down.
- The transaction table. One row per transaction. Click a row to open its details.
Connected accounts
Each card shows the account name, the bank, the last four digits, the balance and when the account last synced. Credit cards show Balance owed instead of Balance.

- Edit. Opens the account's settings.
- Show or hide the balance. Balances are hidden by default, which helps when you share your screen. Click the eye to reveal one.
- Sync now. Pulls the latest transactions for that account. When it finishes you'll see a message telling you whether anything new came in.
- Show all accounts. The page shows one row of cards. Click Show all 5 accounts (your number will differ) to see the rest, and Show fewer to fold them away.
Edit an account
Click the pencil on a card to open Update account.

Field | What it does |
|---|---|
Account type | Asset for bank accounts, Liability for credit cards and loans. |
Sub type | For example Current Asset or Current Liability. |
General ledger | Bank, Savings or Cash for assets. Credit Card, Line of Credit or Loan for liabilities. |
Account code | Optional. 3 to 6 digits, such as 1010. |
Account name | The name you see across Tabby. |
Used for | Business only or Business & personal. |
Opening balance and date | The balance your books start from for this account. |
Description | An optional note. |
Pick Business & personal for any account you also use for personal spending. Mixed accounts get a Personal option when you categorize, so personal spending stays out of your books.
The Tabby AI status bar
The bar under your accounts tells you where things stand, for example "92% of transactions are categorized. 14 still need a category."

When some transactions still need a category, a Review button appears on the right. It takes you to the Review page, which is built for clearing those quickly.
Status tabs
Tab | What's in it |
|---|---|
All | Every transaction. |
Categorized | Has a category and is in your books. |
Excluded | Personal or duplicate, kept out of your books. |
Matched | Linked to an invoice, bill or transfer. |
There is a fifth status, Pending, for transactions that don't have a category yet. Pending rows show an orange Choose category button. You can handle them right here in the All tab or on the Review page.

The number next to each tab follows your search and filters, so you can see at a glance how a filtered set breaks down.
How to read a transaction row

- Checkbox. Select the row for a bulk action.

- Account. The bank or card account the transaction came from.
- Category. Click to change it.
- Class. An optional label for tracking a client, project or location. Click to set one.
- Status. Pending, Categorized, Excluded or Matched. A green check next to it means the transaction has been checked.
- Amount. Money in is green with a plus sign. Money out has a minus sign.
- Actions. The three dots open a menu with everything you can do to the row.
The small marks next to names and categories
Tabby tells you who set each value.
Mark | Meaning |
|---|---|
Sparkle | Set by Tabby AI. Next to a vendor name, it means Tabby read the name from the bank description. |
Lightning bolt | The category was set by a rule. |
Person | Set by you or someone on your team. |
Hover over a mark to see the explanation.
Find the transaction you need

Filters

Account | Show one or more accounts. |

Click the button at the bottom, here Show 9 transactions, to apply. Active filters appear as chips above the table. Click the x on a chip to remove that filter, or Clear all to remove them all.

Use Rows per page at the bottom of the table to show 10, 25, 50 or 100 rows.
Common questions
A transaction is missing. What should I check?
Click Sync now on the account card first. If nothing arrives, open Bank connections and look for a Needs attention label on the bank. An expired bank login stops new transactions until you reconnect. Also check that no search or filter is hiding the transaction. A brand new connection can take up to 24 hours to deliver its first transactions.
Where did my uncategorized transactions go?
They are still in the All tab with a Pending status. The Review page lists only those, with Tabby's suggestion next to each one.
What's the difference between Categorized and Checked?
Categorized means the transaction has a category, whether Tabby or a person set it. Checked means a person has looked at it and confirmed it's right.
